Privacy Policy of Presentation AI List

General

This policy explains which personal data we process when you use www.presentationailist.com ("the site"), why, and what rights you have.

We only process personal data where we need it. We never publish contact details you give us, for example the email address in a tool submission. Service providers that run parts of the site for us process data only on our behalf, under data processing agreements. This policy describes them by the kind of service they provide; on request, we tell you their names.

The site links to the websites of the tools we list. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.

Who is responsible

Presentation AI List, represented by Leonard Hußke. The postal address is in our Legal Notice. Email: hello@presentationailist.com

Visiting the site

The site runs on a server of our hosting provider in Germany and is delivered through the network of a content delivery and security provider, which also protects it against attacks. When you open a page, they process the technical data your browser sends: IP address, date and time, the requested page, referrer, browser and device type. Images are delivered through the same way; your browser does not contact third parties for them.

We back up our database regularly. Backups are stored in Germany and deleted after a limited period.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in a secure, working and fast website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Analytics only with your consent. We use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited; Google LLC, USA) to see which pages and tools are useful, and Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Ireland Operations Limited; Microsoft Corporation, USA) to find usability problems through heatmaps and session recordings. Neither loads before you accept in the cookie banner. Clarity masks all text and everything you type. We do not use either for advertising. You can change your choice at any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page.

Legal basis: for necessary cookies § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; for analytics your consent (§ 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). More information: Google's privacy policy, Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Spam protection on forms

Our submission form and the step for claiming a listing use a bot check from our delivery and security provider. It processes your IP address and browser characteristics to tell people from bots. To limit repeated submissions, we keep a keyed hash of your IP address (not the address itself) for up to 24 hours.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in protecting our forms against spam and abuse (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Submitting a tool

When you suggest a tool, we process the details you enter and your email address to review the submission and to contact you about it. If we list the tool, its name, website and descriptions are published, never your email address. You can optionally confirm a work address on the tool's domain with a code we email to it. We keep your email address with the listing until you ask us to delete it or the listing is removed.

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in running a curated directory and answering contributors (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR); where you represent the tool's vendor, steps towards a listing agreement (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

Accounts and listings

You can sign in with Google (Google then shares your name, email address and profile picture with us) or with a one-time link we email to you. We store your account and your sign-in sessions. To claim a listing, you confirm an email address on the tool's own domain; changes you suggest to a listing are reviewed by us before they are published. We keep your account until you ask us to delete it.

Legal basis: providing the account and its features (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR) and keeping accounts and listings secure (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Emails

We send sign-in links, verification codes and notifications about your submissions through an email delivery service that sends from the EU.

Newsletter

Our newsletter is published on Substack (Substack Inc., USA). When you subscribe, your browser sends your email address directly to Substack, which then delivers the newsletter under its own privacy policy. You can unsubscribe with the link in every issue. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR).

Payments

Featured listings on our Boost page are paid on a page operated by Stripe; Stripe's privacy policy applies there. We receive the information needed to deliver and invoice the plan.

Contacting us

If you email us, we use your address and message to answer you (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, or Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if it concerns a contract).

Links to listed tools may carry a referral parameter (for example utm_source=presentationailist.com) that shows the tool's operator you came from us. They carry no personal data.

Transfers outside the EU

Some providers are based in the USA: our delivery and security provider, and, where you use them, Google, Microsoft, Substack and Stripe. Transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified, and otherwise on the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15–18, 20, 21 GDPR), and to withdraw consent at any time with effect for the future (Art. 7(3) GDPR). To exercise them, or to ask for the names of our service providers, email hello@presentationailist.com.

You can also complain to a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR). The authority responsible for us is the Hessian Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.

We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing (Art. 22 GDPR). You can browse the site without giving us personal data; to submit a tool, sign in or subscribe, we need the data marked as required.

Changes to this policy

We update this policy when the site or the law changes.
